Meet Sr. Christina Marie, OSF who is transferring to our Congregation. Originally from Iowa, she is the oldest of five children, all girls. Sr. Christina Marie was drawn to the consecrated life from early childhood. Starting at the age of eighteen, she spent three years in a Poor Clare Monastery, through which she came to realize that she loved the contemplative life and the spirit of Saint Francis, but was not called to live in the cloister. Soon after that, she spent nineteen years in an Augustinian-based Religious Community and served in Russia with the Sisters for fifteen years. During this time, she discovered in her heart a calling to the ministry of presence, felt called to be a light for those people who are most lost and abandoned, to serve people through giving spiritual direction and doing healing ministry. Sr. Christina Marie feels more at home in the Franciscan spirit and was amazed to discover a congregation that had as its charism the things that God had been putting in her heart over the years. Please pray for her as she begins a year of formation as a novice.
