As I sit here writing this letter I am before the Blessed Sacrament in adoration, my heart is flooded with His beauty, His tenderness, His love for me. This moment reminds me of the first authentic femininity retreat I attended. Oh, how it changed my life! I didn’t know it then, but it was His very heart, present to us in the Eucharist, that with every beat was calling to me. He called me with a tender whisper, a longing in my heart to find truth [authenticity], to see beauty [femininity]. This very whisper [His grace] inspired me to ask the School Sisters of St. Francis in Panhandle to put together that authentic femininity retreat, since it was the Sisters who helped me realize just how central it is to have a relationship-centered prayer life. They taught me that my motivation to pray should always be love: love from the One who thirsts for me, love from the source and summit of my existence, love my first Love. This realization has radically changed my prayer life and consequentially, my life as a whole. I want this for every woman. I want to see women inspiring women to seek this radical relationship with Christ, which enables us to be authentically ourselves. For it is in the reception and sharing of the purest form of love (God’s Love) that we can find who we are called to be as women and how we are called to live our mission. Therefore, I invite you and any women in your life to join us for the next Authentic Femininity Retreat starting on Friday, March 18th at 10a.m. and culminating on Sunday, March the 20th after lunch. Any time spent with Jesus—and the Sisters—is truly a time filled with love, joy, learning, growth, and peace. Hope to see you there! |
